The NSE Nifty index closed 195.4 points up at 18264.4, while BSE Sensex ended up 709.96 points at 61764.25.
On the other hand, Coal India Ltd.(down 1.92 per cent), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 1.71 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent) and Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.60 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
