PANAJI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for May 8 and 9 as thunderstorms, lightning and 30-40kmph gusts of winds are forecast at isolated places over Goa.
The IMD has advised necessary precautions while venturing outdoors during these two days. IMD had earlier forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers at a few places due to the influence of trough formation on May 7.
The sky was overcast on Sunday. However, there were no thundershowers.
Dry weather prevailed on SundayThe weather is likely to be dry from May 10 onwards. The maximum temperature will be in the ‘no large change’ range over the next four to five days. Dry weather prevailed over most parts of the state on Sunday with a haze reported at isolated places. Though not as severe as a red or orange alert, a yellow warning means “be aware” and indicates severely bad weather spanning several days, according to the India meteorological department (IMD).
