Kemira has recently announced the closing of the divestment of most of its colorants business to Chromascape. Under the deal, Chromascape will also take over Kemira’s manufacturing site in South Carolina, however, Kemira will retain its APAC-related colorants business.

Helsinki/Finland – Kemira signed a definitive agreement to sell its colorants dye business to US-based Chromascape in September 2022. The revenue of the business in 2022 was approximately 50 million euros and 59 employees will be transferred to Chromascape as part of the transaction. The scope also includes one Kemira manufacturing site at Goose Creek, Bushy Park in South Carolina. Kemira will keep its APAC-related colorants business.

Kemira’s colorants include basic and direct dyes, organic pigments, and special colorants used in numerous paper and packaging applications such as tissue, cardboard, newspaper, and high-end packaging solutions for jewelry, cosmetics, and foodstuffs.
