Tusker kills elderly man in Hindol

ANGUL: Laxmidhar Patra (65) of Balikiari village was trampled to death by a wild tusker in the early hours of Friday.
Forest officials said Patra had gone to attend nature’s call when he was attacked The incident sparked tension with the villagers staging protest against forest department apathy in tackling the elephant issue.
DFO Sumit Kumar Kar said the man had ventured out in the early hours despite warning by the forest department.
