NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: Covid active cases went below 100 in Ghaziabad for the first time since March on Friday.
The district added 8 fresh cases, while 47 patients also recovered in the last 24 hours. According to health officials, five patients are admitted to various hospitals.
Meanwhile, 34 new cases were reported in Noida, taking the tally of active cases to 174. Out of these, nine are admitted to hospitals. The district also saw 79 recoveries in the last 24 hours.
In Ghaziabad, 89 patients are in home isolation, while five patients are currently recovering in government and private facilities.
As per officials, daily testing has been consistent at around 1,000–1,500 tests, but the numbers are declining after a peak of 197 in Noida and 124 in Ghaziabad in the third week of April.
Since May 1, Ghaziabad has reported 62 cases so far, while Noida has seen 157 cases.
“The numbers will go down further in the coming days. The daily positive cases are less than people recovering every day. We are still testing close to 1,500 samples every day,” said Dr
Amit Kumar, GB Nagar surveillance officer.
