MPD: Man dead after shooting an armored car guard in Milwaukee and the other guard shot back
A man shot an armored car guard during an attempted robbery outside a bank on the city's southwest side, resulting in a different guard firing his weapon, striking the man, and killing him, Milwaukee police say.
The incident took place Friday shortly before 5 p.m. near the North Shore Bank, located at 5817 W. Forest Home Ave., police said.
The armed robbery suspect who died was 47 years old and from Kenosha. The guard who was shot is 36 years old and from Kewaskum. He is currently in a hospital and expected to survive, police said.
The guard who shot the robbery suspect is 25 years old and from Watertown; he was uninjured.
Police said the incident will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
