Salgaonkar and Ritesh Vaigankar emerged as winners in Group A and Group B, respectively in the standing category from North Goa District in the 3rd District Level Para Table Tennis Tournament at the Indoor Stadium, SAG, Campal, Panaji, recently.
The tournament saw over 25 Para players from both Standing and Wheelchair categories across Goa participating in the event.
Gopal Naik and Nikhil Dhargave were the runners-up in Group A and Group B, respectively. In the wheelchair category, Durgadas Gaunekar and Vishant Nagvekar won in Group A and Group B, respectively, while Gauresh Marathe and Anupa Pilgaonkar were the runners-up in Group A and Group B, respectively.
From South Goa District in the standing category, Vinod Kumbhar and Lyndon Cardozo won in Group A and Group B, respectively, while Dharmesh Kuri and Vinayak Mahindrakar were the runners-up in Group A and Group B, respectively.
In the wheelchair category, Moises Rodrigues and Dr. Vithal Rane won in Group A and Group B, respectively, while Stany D’souza and Patrick D’Souza were the runners-up in Group A and Group B, respectively.
The matches were officiated by Prashant Tari, Dinesh Satarkar, and Ulhas Mahale, all from the Gujarati Samaj Educational Trust Special School, Margao. The winners and runners-up were awarded certificates and trophies for their outstanding performance. The winners will represent their respective districts in the upcoming state-level para table tennis tournament.
