Nargund: Candidate runs ‘One note, one vote’ campaign
Farmer leader Veeresh Sobaradmath asks for votes and monetary support during his campaign
HUBBALLI: A farmer leader in Nargund contesting for May 10 assembly election has been asking people for monetory support along with their votes to his symbol auto serial number 13.
Raita Sena Karnataka president and leader for Kalasa-Banduri project implementation farmers protest Veeresh Sobaradmath is asking for votes through his special campaign ‘One Note, One Vote’.
Veeresh Sobaradmath said established political parties are spending money while he is seeking support from the voters in the constituency. "Till date, more than Rs 8,000 has been donated by the public through banks, and some have come forward to campaign for me and also helped by donating cash," Sobaradmath added.
He is currently using six vehicles to campaign and the fuel cost is being managed with the help of donors. Farmers joining campaigning are bringing food, he said.
Other farmer leaders extend support
According to sources, several forums from Dharwad district and other places have also extended support to the farmer leader. Farmer leaders from Ron, Saundatti, Badami and others are also helping.
Sharnappagouda Patil, a resident of Nargund, said they have visited all 89 villages in the constituency. "There is an overwhelming response from the voters in the constituency," he added.
