Governor has given flawed meaning of Dravidian ideology: DMK
CHENNAI: The DMK hit back at Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi for his attack on Dravidian ideology and on the state government, accusing him of repeatedly giving wrong information on the number of bills pending with him.
In all, 17 bills passed by the state assembly and sent for his assent are pending with the governor, while he claims to have none, said state industries minister Thangam Thennarasu.
In a hard-hitting statement issued on Thursday as a rebuttal to the governor's remarks in an interview to TOI, Thangam Thennarasu accused the governor of also spreading falsehood with regard to discretionary funds granted to Raj Bhavan.
Thennarasu said PTR had raised three issues on the funds given to Raj Bhavan. The discretionary fund was meant only for the financial year it was granted and should be returned if it was not spent that year. But the governor's office has redirected the fund to another account instead of returning it to the state, which is against the Tamil Nadu Finance Code, PTR had said. The fund was also spent on private organisations and for recurring expenditure, which is also against the TN Financial Code, PTR had said.
