GPSC suggests 55 names of officials for promotions
Panaji: The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) on Friday conducted 11 departmental promotion committee meetings and promoted 17 Goa Civil Service (GCS) officers from various departments to senior administrative grade.
Fifty-five officials were recommended for promotions as well as lifting of probation periods and being confirmed at the meetings held on Friday.
GPSC chairman Jose Manual Noronha said two officers from the directorate of agriculture were promoted as deputy directors of agriculture while two other officers were promoted as special auditors at the office of the registrar of cooperative societies.
“Seventeen officers from the GCS were promoted to the senior administrative grade and will now be eligible to hold senior level positions in the state administration. One official was promoted to the position of deputy director in the directorate of skill training while three officials were promoted to the position of assistant director in the same department,” said Noronha.
At the Goa Medical College, promotion to one position of professor in neurology was recommended while one official was promoted to the position of pharmaceutical chemist. Two officers were promoted to the position of child development project officer in the directorate of women and child development.
Probation period and confirmation was recommended for 11 officials from the education department as well as thirteen officials from the cooperation department.
All departmental promotion committee meetings are chaired by Noronha while the chief secretary and the administrative secretary are members of the committee as per the recruitment rules.
