In a rare case of 'Throat Cancer', first rare surgery has been performed at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Speaking on the same, Executive Director of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Dr. Ashutosh Biswas on May 5 said that a rare case of throat cancer requiring extensive surgery was successfully performed enabling the patient to perform its regular activities.He said, 'After being refused to be operated from various hospitals, a 25-year-old lady came to AIIMS who was suffering from throat cancer. She had difficulties even to perform her regular usual activities. The treatment was very challenging as it was concerning a very important area of human body.' 'It needed an extensive surgery and was not curable with therapy. The surgery went for almost 14 hours and now the patient is fine and able to perform all he activities.'
