Bihar logs 85 new Covid cases

PATNA: The state has started witnessing a downward trend in the number of new Covid-19 cases. On Thursday, 85 people tested positive for the virus. However, a 55-year-old woman undergoing treatment for Covid died on Thursday.
As per the state health department, 85 new cases were registered against 44,310 samples tested and the state's positivity rate stood at 0.192%. On Wednesday, the state had registered 101 new cases with a positivity rate of 0.23%. On Tuesday, there were 92 cases against 30,790 samples.
Of the 85 cases registered on Thursday, Patna accounted for 30, followed by Khagaria (13), Bhagalpur (6), Munger (6), Gaya (5), Saharsa (5), Gopalganj (3), East Champaran (3), Sitamarhi (2), Purnia (2) and Bhojpur (2). Other districts registered one case each. With recoveries surpassing new cases registered in a day, active cases have also come down. On Thursday, there were 648 active cases in the state.
At AIIMS-Patna, two patients were discharged and one was admitted and there were 10 patients undergoing treatment at the hospital on Thursday. The hospital also reported the death of a 55-year-old woman who was admitted on April 28 with respiratory issues.
