French head chef of bakery found dead in Noida flat
Noida: A 66-year-old French national was found dead in his flat in Sector 52 on Wednesday night. Police are now trying to find out the cause of his death.
The cops have identified the deceased as Pierre Bernard Nvanen, who worked as the head chef of L’Opéra Bakery in Sector 2 since October last year. Police said he was living on rent.
“Nvanen’s landlord discovered his body in the flat around 10pm on Wednesday and informed the Sector 24 police station. A police team was immediately sent to spot,” said Shakti Avasthy, additional deputy commissioner of police, Noida.
Nvanen’s landlord came to check on him when his colleagues at the bakery informed him that he had not shown up at work for the past few days, since Tuesday.
“The landlord knocked on the door but Nvanen did not respond. So, he opened the door using a duplicate key and entered the flat. He saw Nvanen lying on the bed and immediately informed the police,” the additional DCP said on Thursday.
According to the police, the deceased was found lying on the left side of the bed. There was some dry vomit on the mattress.
“There were no visible injuries on the body. The field unit collected physical evidence from the spot and sent the body for an autopsy,” the additional DCP said.
Officials with the local intelligence unit said that the French Embassy had been informed of Nvanen’s death.
His family members have been contacted as well, the police said.
