16-year-old found dead on ramp of his house, Gurgaon police suspect suicide

Gurgaon: The body of a 16-year-old boy was found on the ramp outside his house in Sector-46, early on Thursday morning. Whether the boy jumped or fell to his death accidentally is still unclear, police said.
CCTV footage recovered by the cops has revealed that at around 3.30am on Thursday the boy, a student of class 12, had taken the lift up to the fourth floor roof; from where he later either jumped or fell.
Even though the prima facie evidence suggests that the teenager could have committed suicide, the police are yet to establish whether the fall was intentional or accidental.
A team from the Sector-50 police station has taken custody of the body and sent it for an autopsy and initiated investigation in the case.
“The autopsy has been conducted and a case has been registered. The body has been handed over to the family for the last rites. We haven’t found a suicide note yet and are yet to determine whether or not it was suicide. An investigation is underway,” said a police officer privy to the case.
