Nagpur: 31-year-old Uzbek woman involved in flesh trade has Aadhaar card processed in Delhi

NAGPUR: The 31-year-old Uzbekistan national, rescued from a hotel near Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar international airport earlier this week after the crime branch busted a sex racket, had been travelling across India with a fake Aadhaar card processed in Delhi. Rescued with two other women from Delhi, the Uzbek woman has now been booked as her visa had also expired.
As per sources, the Uzbek woman, a mother of three, had come to India on a tourist visa in 2018. Though her passport is valid till 2024, the visa expired in 2018. City police on Wednesday registered a fresh offence against the Uzbek national at Sonegaon police station. She was travelling across the country, posing as an Indian citizen named ‘Roja’, said police.
Last year, city police had nabbed two European women from a city hotel in a similar raid at Sadar. The two women too had procured fake Indian Aadhaar cards in Delhi and were travelling to different cities for earning through the flesh trade.
It’s learnt that Delhi has become a hub for women from foreign countries who are involved in flesh trade. Their agents in Delhi help these women in procuring fake Adhaar cards.
The Uzbek national first went to Raipur from Delhi. Contacting her agent Bilal Ahmed, who is also in custody, she flew down to the city. The Uzbek national was sent to the government shelter home. The social service branch of the city police crime branch has now approached court to grant permission for arresting her, said inspector Sarin Durge, who is investigating the case.
In the meantime, city police had found cash ₹87,000 from the residence of Ahmed at Shambhu Nagar in Mankapur after his arrest earlier this week. The cops have also recovered a sword and a knife from his place.
On Thursday, Ahmed was produced before the court from where police got additional remand custody for four days. Police have found several incriminating chats, images, information and details of rates, and proof soliciting from the mobile phones of Ahmed and the three women, which are now being analysed by the cyber experts.
