As the world, along with Britain, gears up for the most coveted coronation of British monarch King Charles III, alongside Queen Consort Camila, on May 6, food enthusiasts are equally excited to know about the signature royal luncheon, which has been the talk of the town.
In the past, more than $30 million was spent on a king's coronation feast. As per an online report, from 1189 until 1830, the British royal family had lavish, extravagant, and expensive Coronation Day feasts, with millions spent on the feasts of thousands of guests, including celebrities and VVIPS. And this year, being no exception, it is expected that it will be no less than a treat to all five senses.

A few weeks ago, Buckingham Palace released the official lunch menu and three inspirational recipes. For the uninitiated, quiche is a crisp, light pastry case with mild flavours of spinach, beans, and fresh tarragon, and can be enjoyed cold or hot.
What’s on the menuIf we go by the official release, the menu sounds scrumptious and includes Ken Hom’s Coronation Roast Rack of Lamb with Asian-style Marinade, Nadiya Hussain’s Coronation Aubergine, and Adam Handling’s Strawberry and Ginger Trifle.

It has also been reported by media houses that King Charles is said to be partial to wild mushroom risotto with organic lamb and equally loves cheesy baked eggs or coddled eggs, while Queen Consort, and Camilla with homegrown asparagus with lots of butte. For desserts, the royal menu will showcase bitter chocolate ice-cream.
