Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.35% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:30AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Granules India(up 1.79 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 1.65 per cent), Cipla(up 0.99 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 0.73 per cent) and Biocon(up 0.73 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Aurobindo Pharma(down 1.05 per cent), Laurus(down 0.73 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(down 0.56 per cent), Lupin(down 0.18 per cent) and Sanofi India(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.35 per cent at 12630.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 42.95 points at 18132.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 130.44 points at 61323.74.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Suzlon Energy, Rail Vikas Nigam, Zomato Ltd. and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ganesha Ecosp, N K Industries, Chola Inv Finance, Thejo Engg and Network People Services Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Salasar Exteriors, Parin Furniture and Party Cruisers Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
