Ranchi: Governor C P Radhakrishnan on Wednesday emphasised on skilling the young and dynamic workforce of the state so that they contribute towards the state’s economic growth and development.
He was addressing an apprenticeship conclave organised by the IIM Ranchi and Regional Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (RDSDE) Jharkhand at the Vivekanand seminar hall in IIM. Padma Shri Ashok Bhagat was also one of the guests.
The Governor stressed upon rural and inclusive development and on the aspects of skilling tribal people of the state. He also praised PM Narendra Modi for his efforts towards apprenticeship promotion and development of skill ecosystem across India.
IIM director Deepak Kumar Srivastava stressed on need of a confluence of institutions of national importance and coordination among them to build and strengthen a sustained skill ecosystem for the state. He also mentioned about the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship programme, which is being anchored by IIM Ranchi for Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu.
Joint secretary, ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship, Sonal Mishra talked about the different schemes that the Union government has created over the years.
