The sugarcane farmers of Haryana are angered by the non-payment of dues by sugar mills including cooperative sugar mills in the state, reports Tribune.
The state unit of the BKU organized a meeting of farmers at the Karnal Cooperative Sugar Mill to protest the delayed disbursement of payment.
Knowledgeable sources say a total amount of Rs 120 crore dues of farmers is pending with the three sugar mills — Karnal Cooperative Sugar Mill, Piccadilly Sugar Mill, Bhadson; and Hafed Sugar Mill at Fafrana village in Assandh — in the district.
