Man thrashed for ‘stealing’ bike

Bokaro: A man was caught by the residents on charges of stealing a motorcycle near Dhanbad Central Cooperative Bank located at the Check Post area under Chas police station limits and thrashed on Wednesday morning. He escaped and hid in the bushes from where police rescued him, police said.
The officer in-charge of Chas police station, Mohammad Rustam, said, “The bike owner did not file a written complaint. Hence, the accused was released.”
The owner of the motorcycle, Sadhan Mandal, said he had gone to the bank to deliver a letter and found his bike missing upon returning. He spotted the accused taking his bike under the Garga bridge and caught him. The accused was taken to Chas Dharamshala area and beaten. TNN
