Anjuna police arrests two persons in drugs raid at Siolim
Police took into custody Suraj Pradeep Todi, 29, a native of Karnataka and Siolim resident who was driving the car.
PANAJI: Anjuna Police on Thursday arrested two persons in connection with the narcotic raid at Siolim, and seized LSD worth Rs 1 lakh.
Deputy superintendent of police (DySP) Jivba Dalvi said that Anjuna police received information that a drug dealer would arrive with drugs in a car at Udo Beach, Siolim.
Accordingly, a team of police personnel in civil clothes was deployed, and after maintaining surveillance for a few hours, the police intercepted one car at the location.
After thoroughly searching the car, police allegedly recovered 10 LSD papers worth Rs 1 lakh.
“The preliminary spot test conducted on the papers confirmed for LSD,” Dalvi said.
Police took into custody Suraj Pradeep Todi, 29, a native of Karnataka and Siolim resident who was driving the car.
Dalvi said that the car used for transporting the narcotics has been attached by police.
“Further interrogation of the accused revealed that the LSD was sold by Kalidas alias Kali Naik, a resident of Anjuna,” Dalvi said.
Accordingly, another team was formed and Anjuna police successfully arrested the accused.
Police also said that Todi revealed one more name, and a search has been launched to nab the accused.
Naik has been remanded in 14 days judicial custody, while Todi has been remanded in four days police custody.
