HAVE YOU EVER tasted a wine made the year you were born? Some people will buy a wine for that reason alone.

Purchasing “birth-year” wines for loved ones has long been a tradition among oenophiles. But I wonder if it is (still) a good idea, or a relic of an earlier era when wines weren’t styled to be consumed right away, as most are today.
