CHENNAI: The death of one person was notified on Wednesday when fresh cases in
Tamil Nadu dropped to 220 compared to 251 on Tuesday and 274 on Monday.
Active cases also fell to 2,079 after the state discharged 419 patients from the registry. A 77 year-old male with hypertension and chronic kidney disease from Thirupathur was admitted to a private hospital in Vellore on April 27 with complaints of fever and tested positive for Covid-19.
He died on Monday following septic shock, multi-organ failure, Covid-19 pneumonia, doctors said. Seven districts reported no cases. Fresh cases dropped to 44 in Chennai.
