Kanpur:
Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday took a swipe at
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that “people of Delhi (Central government) are selling big things and the people of UP (state government) are selling small things. Rail, roads, ports, ships.. They are selling everything. If you want to stop them, then help the Samajwadi Party win that too with all your heart and not half-heartedly.”
He was addressing a public meeting in support of the party candidates in fray for the civic elections in Taalgram area of Kannauj.
He added, “We have to win the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections also with historic votes. After this election, the election of the Lok Sabha will start. We all have to stop BJP and if you will not stop them, then one thing is for sure that you will be deprived of your very basic rights soon.”
Akhilesh said that the Samajwadi Party government brought development in ‘attar’ town Kannauj.
“So I have come here to appeal for the victory of the party candidates. When SP will win, only then Kannauj will be free from the filth and stench of BJP’s corruption. All the development that is visible in Kannauj is due to the SP government,” said Akhilesh further. He said that the BJP will lose the municipal elections in the entire state. “The BJP’s fear of defeat is so much that for the first time in the civic body elections, they are (BJP people) campaigning across the state with several helicopters,” he said and added, “BJP wants to win elections in the entire state by misusing money power.”
“There is also another reason as to why they have been campaigning in helicopters,” he said and added, “They (BJP people) want to escape from the pits of the roads, jams, stray animals and the filth and stench of drains. BJP has nothing to do with the problems of the common masses.”
Akhilesh said that a lot of development work was done in the SP government, which was either stopped or destroyed by the BJP government. “BJP is anti-development,” he said further.
He said that people have to pay expensive electricity bills, house tax has increased, the cities are full of garbage, bulls are roaming on the streets. He also said that the Chief Minister does not speak the truth. “The Chief Minister talks about a trillion dollar economy. What is this one trillion, people do not understand this one trillion economy gimmick of the government. Also, the government gives wrong figures of unemployment. To show this lie as truth, it has given a contract of Rs 200 crore to an American agency,” he said.
