Vadodara: Eight women were arrested on Wednesday for stealing industrial goods worth over Rs 1.44 crore. The accused allegedly stole the goods that were kept in a tin shed in a private firm’s premises in Karachiya village.
The police said that all the accused ganged up to commit the theft in the last four days. The cops got a tip-off about the gang and tracked it down from Karachiya village. The women were identified as Leela Parmar, Amita Harijan, Parul Chauhan, Jeevi Harijan, Kapila Harijan, Sumitra Harijan, Reshma Parmar and Reva Harijan. The cops have also recovered the stolen machinery.
Investigations are on to ascertain if there are more people involved in this crime. TNN
