Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:19AM

Aro Granite Industries(up 1.88%), Oriental Trimex(up 1.48%), NMDC Ltd(up 1.36%), 20 Microns(up 0.94%), Ashapura Minechem(up 0.84%), MOIL(up 0.75%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.36%), Pokarna(up 0.17%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers.

KIOCL(down 0.42%), Coal India(down 0.27%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.23%) and Lexus Granito(down 0.14%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 35.55 points up at 18125.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 100.87 points at 61294.17 at around 10:19AM.

SBI Life(up 1.86%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.54%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.54%), Tata Steel(up 1.5%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.03%), Adani Enterprises(up 1.02%), State Bank of India(up 0.99%), Asian Paints(up 0.9%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.9%) and Bharti Airtel(up 0.87%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.13%), ICICI Bank(down 0.82%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.63%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.6%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.52%), ITC(down 0.48%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.44%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.37%), HCL Technologies(down 0.35%) and Coal India(down 0.32%) were trading in the red.
