Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.08% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:51AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

State Bank of India(up 1.24 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 0.73 per cent), Bandhan Bank(up 0.63 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.33 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IndusInd Bank(down 1.03 per cent), IDFCBANK(down 0.94 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 0.87 per cent), Federal Bank(down 0.04 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.08 per cent at 43349.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 51.8 points at 18141.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 155.76 points at 61349.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Suzlon Energy, Rail Vikas Nigam, Zomato Ltd. and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Chola Inv Finance, Ganesha Ecosp, Thejo Engg, Sanghvi Movers and Network People Services Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Salasar Exteriors, Parin Furniture, Virinchi and Party Cruisers Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
