Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:09AM

Ugar Sugar Works(up 6.72%), Mawana Sugars(up 6.33%), BAJAJHIND(up 4.47%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 3.82%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 3.81%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 3.67%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 3.09%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 2.96%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 2.90%) and Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.87%) were among the top gainers.

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.22%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 37.3 points up at 18127.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 110.07 points at 61303.37 at around 10:09AM.

Bajaj Finance(up 1.66%), Adani Enterprises(up 1.63%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.51%), SBI Life(up 1.43%), Tata Steel(up 1.41%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.18%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.98%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.84%), Asian Paints(up 0.73%) and State Bank of India(up 0.72%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.13%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.71%), ICICI Bank(down 0.62%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.53%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.5%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.43%), ITC(down 0.42%), UPL Ltd(down 0.41%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.39%) and Nestle India(down 0.37%) were trading in the red.
