2 arrested for assaulting minor in Delhi airport's Terminal-1 metro station loo

NEW DELHI: Two men have been arrested for alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl in a public toilet just outside the Terminal-1 Metro Station at IGI Airport.
The girl went to relieve herself on Monday when Ranjeet Yadav (36) and Rajesh (40) allegedly raped her. Deputy commissioner of police (metro) Jitendra Mani said, “Yadav is an illiterate and works at the toilet while Rajesh, a resident of Delhi, has finished his 12th standard and is doing a private job.”
Police were informed by the station controller of the metro station about the incident and a case for molestation and under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered at the Janakpuri metro station police station.
On the basis of CCTV footage analysis and some clues from other workers at the toilet, the accused were arrested. “Investigations revealed that Yadav who worked as an attendant and caretaker of the toilet were present there along with Rajesh. They even consumed alcohol before assaulting the minor,” said the DCP. Yadav was arrested first from the T1 area while Yadav was caught from Mehram Nagar. Both were found drunk, he added.
