VADODARA: They are not members of the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA). But about 10 persons have been included in various committees appointed by the BCA to manage the routine affairs.
BCA’s legal and HR committee member, Kamalkant Pandya, has objected to it and said that the move is against the association’s constitution.
“Why should the association appoint non-members in the BCA committees? This is against the BCA constitution and blatant disregard for the rules. We have many members who can be appointed to the committees. I have objected to this,” Pandya told TOI.
However, BCA officials said that many new committees have been formed over the last few weeks and non-members have been appointed to them.
“Some such committee members are also in conflict of interest,” sources in the BCA said.
BCA secretary Ajit Lele said: “The apex council has appointed the committees to perform various tasks. Those experts in their field have been appointed to these committees.”
He added that if the BCA constitution is silent on certain matters, then the apex council can decide on such issues.
