Wrestlers Protest: Grapplers seek Haryana CM Khattar’s support, intervention in matter

Following the scuffle that broke out between ace grapplers protesting against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Singh and Delhi Police at Jantar Mantar on May 3, the trio Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshee Malikkh held a Press Conference on May 04. They said that they aren’t fighting against the Government but the WFI chief. They also said that they as soon as they start feeling the protest will be of no use, they will return their international medals. “The protest is not against the Government, it against Brijbhusan. I request even him to come and protest with us. Come and support us as it is the matter of justice to the daughters of the nation. We firmly abide by statement. When we get convinced that the protest would not be a success anymore, we will return our medals.” Said Bajrang Punia.” “Last time he said that he is in support of us. So where is his support now? Of course we look for support from him. He is the Chief Minister of Haryana and we hail from the state. We demand that he should look into the matter.” Said Vinesh Phogat
