VILLUPURAM: Villupuram all women police have arrested four minor boys all aged between 14 and 17 years on charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl and three minor boys and recording the acts in their mobile phones in a village near Villupuram town. Superintendent of police (Villupuram) N Shreenatha said the issue came to light after a neighbour of one of the minor victims alerted the ChildLine. The ChildLine officials in turn sought the help of police.
Initial inquiries revealed that the four boys, residents of a village near Villupuram town, sexually assaulted a six-year-old daughter of a migrant working couple from Uttar Pradesh.
The boys assaulted her independently when she was alone at home after her parents went for work. They also took videos of the act and shared it with their friends.
The boys also targeted other boys including the 10-year-old brother of the girl in the locality staying alone after their parents leave for work and sexually assaulted them. The boys threatened the girl and three boys of dire consequences if they disclose the incidents to anyone. The videos posted by the boys were widely shared in social media platforms and one of the neighbours of the minor survivor after receiving the video alerted the ChildLine authorities.
"The boys used to show pornographic contents to the minor girl and three boys and forced them to perform as shown in the videos. They also took videos of them sexually assaulting the minor girl and three boys and shared them on social media platforms," said Shreenatha.
Villupuram all women police booked the four minor boys under several sections.and detained the four minor boys following a complaint from a ChildLine activist. Police produced them before the juvenile justice board, which sent them to an observation home in Cuddalore town.
All the minor survivors were admitted to Mundiyampakkam government medical college and hospital for treatment. Three survivors were discharged after treatment while one is still undergoing treatment at the government facility.
