Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:45AM

GE Power India Limited(up 4.74%), Suzlon Energy(up 3.70%), Reliance Power(up 3.36%), Inox Wind Energy(up 2.95%), Voltamp Transformers(up 2.63%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 2.54%), DPSC(up 1.90%), KPI Green Energy(up 1.78%), Gujarat Industries Power(up 1.66%) and RTNPOWER(up 1.59%) were among the top gainers.

Jyoti Structures(down 1.43%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.15%), NLC India(down 0.91%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 0.79%), JSW Energy(down 0.63%), Energy Development Company(down 0.59%), Tata Power Company(down 0.47%), KEC International(down 0.24%), NTPC(down 0.03%) and ADANIGREEN(down 0.03%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 52.5 points up at 18142.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 176.34 points at 61369.64 at around 10:45AM.

Adani Enterprises(up 2.33%), SBI Life(up 1.99%), Tata Steel(up 1.82%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.47%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.43%), State Bank of India(up 1.19%), Cipla(up 1.16%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.12%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.91%) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.91%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.13%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.06%), Coal India(down 0.89%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.82%), ICICI Bank(down 0.79%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.56%), ITC(down 0.49%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.46%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.39%) and HCL Technologies(down 0.39%) were trading in the red.
