Observers asked to keep vigil on voting
Mandya: Mandya and Nagamangala assembly constituencies’ general observer Tanmay Chakraborty, on Wednesday, asked micro-observers to keep a tight vigil on the voting process and report to general observers. Addressing the training sessions organised for the micro-observers, he said, “The officials will receive the information about the polling booth allocated to them on May 9 and the micro-observers have to be present for the mock poll to be held on May 10 to examine the genuineness of the Electronic Voting Machines.”
According to a press release, micro-observers have been told to file a report at the end of the polling and two separate reports if there were two polling booths at one location.
General observer of Malavalli and Maddur constituencies Amit Kumar, Melukote and K R Pet general observer Amitva Banerjee, Srirangapatna general observer S Suresh Kumar, Mandya district election officer and deputy commissioner HN Gopalakrishna among others were present.
