Sexual favours case: HC grants bail to professor, two students
Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court has granted bail to associate professor Girish Parmar and two students, accused of demanding sexual favours from a final-year student in return for passing the examination. A single bench of Justice Umashankar Vyas gave this order while accepting the bail pleas of the three accused.
In the bail plea, advocate Sudhir Jain and other lawyers said that the petitioners have been in judicial custody for a long time. Apart from this, after completing the investigation, the police also filed the chargesheet in the case. The complainant has filed this report with considerable delay to fulfil his ulterior motive and to create pressure. At the same time, it will also take time to complete the trial of the case. In such a situation, he should be released on bail, they said.
Opposing this, the public prosecutor said that the accused Girish Parmar, being a professor, misused his position and demanded sexual relations with the girl students. In such a situation, considering the seriousness of the crime, he should not be granted bail, the public prosecutor said.
After hearing the arguments, the court ordered the accused to be released on bail.
Patwari's suspension order stayed: The high court has put an interim stay on the order suspending the applicant patwari on the basis of the report of another officer while issuing notice to principal secretary, revenue and Jaipur collector. Justice Sudesh Bansal gave this order on the petition of Ramesh Chand. tnn
