Rajkot: The health officials of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) seized 1,600 kg of adulterated paneer based on the specific information before it got supplied to the retail distributors. Health officer Dr Jayesh Vakani and his team intercepted an SUV on Dhebar Road and found 80 boxes (20kg each) of paneer. Primary probe revealed that the paneer was adulterated. It was being transported from a dairy in Mahuva. The supplier admitted to adulteration and told health officials that he had been supplying paneer for over 1.5 years.
Man booked for molesting 16-year-old girl
Rajkot: A 16-year-old girl studying in Class 11 was molested and threatened allegedly by her maternal uncle’s friend. Police booked Nikunj Solanki under IPC section 354 (D) (1) and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Solanki used to come to the minor’s house frequently with her uncle after the death of her mother. Solanki gave the girl his mobile phone number and asked her to call him for casual talk. Solanki then asked the girl to meet him privately, but she refused. So, Solanki threatened to make viral the conversation between them, which he had recorded without her knowledge
Class 11 student kills self
Rajkot: A 15-year-old Class 11 girl hanged herself to death in an apartment in Patel Colony area of Jamnagar on Tuesday. The deceased Mahi Gohel was a native of Khambhaliya town in Devbhumi Dwarka district. Police said that Mahi was ill and had to take a drop for a year from school. Because of her illness, she could not focus on her studies and that’s why she slipped into depression, her father told the police.
