Failure drives girl to suicide

Surat: A 17-year-old Class XII Science student ended life by jumping into Par river on Tuesday after she failed to pass the exams.
The deceased, Neha Patel, earlier made a call to her father at around 12.50pm to inform him that she was going to the Par river bridge and when asked told him about her failure.
But, by the time her father, Kamlesh, a vegetable vendor, his wife, residents of Mota Vaghchhipa village, reached the bridge, the crowd present at the spot informed them that the girl who had jumped from the bridge had been taken to hospital. Neha was declared brought dead when the locals fished out her body from the river on Tuesday afternoon.
Swimmers from Mangela Life Saver Trust tried to rescue the girl but it was too late when her body was found. tnn
