AgenciesSona BLW Precision Forgings(up 2.02 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 0.66 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.33 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 0.22 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bosch(down 1.86 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 1.29 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 1.21 per cent), TIINDIA(down 1.16 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.74 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.19 per cent at 13257.55 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 57.8 points at 18089.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 178.51 points at 61176.2.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.
Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Rail Vikas Nigam, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Shiv Aum Steels, Coastal Corp(PP), Centum Elec, Rail Vikas Nigam and IVP Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Party Cruisers Ltd., Parin Furniture and GSK Pharma hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
