MUMBAI: The Mumbai police have unearthed a cyber fraud racket and arrested three persons from Rajasthan, including the kingpin who is a chartered accountant (CA). The gang has cheated more than 46 people across the city, police said.
The gang used to lure people promising them jobs or a chance to earn extra money by 'just liking and commenting' on YouTube videos, said API Digamber Pagar. Once the victims fell into their trap, the fraudsters would dupe them, extracting as much money as possible. The fraud came to light in early March after the complaint of a 26-year-old woman from Matunga who lost Rs 1.22 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Vinod Kumar Agarwal (kingpin), a native of Ajmer in Rajasthan, Surajsingh Bhavarsingh (31) and Devisingh Raval (36).
