Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.4% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:14AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Bandhan Bank(up 1.14 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 1.04 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 0.94 per cent), Federal Bank(up 0.37 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(up 0.24 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bank of Baroda(down 2.79 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 0.98 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.73 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.3 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.28 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.4 per cent at 43176.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 61.55 points at 18086.1, while the BSE Sensex was down 192.57 points at 61162.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Rail Vikas Nigam, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Shiv Aum Steels, Coastal Corp(PP), Rail Vikas Nigam, Centum Elec and N K Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Party Cruisers Ltd., Parin Furniture and GSK Pharma hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
