RANCHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday interrogated additional registrar of assurance, Kolkata, Tridip Mishra at its zonal office in Ranchi in connection with the modification in record for illegal land transaction in Ranchi.
The ED is investigating the land scams in Ranchi, including the sale of 4.55 acres under the Army's possession and money laundering.
The ED had conducted a survey of the Registrar of Assurances Kolkata office on February 15, 2023 and found that documents related to plots located at Gari Mauza and Morabadi mauza in Ranchi were tampered with to create fictitious owners. The ED's survey earlier also found that the records and documents at circle office Bargain in Ranchi were modified in this regard.
Official sources said that ED is all set to interrogate several persons in connection with the land scams in the coming days. Director of social welfare, Chhavi Ranjan, has been summoned on May 4. Several land dealers, including Vishnu Agrawal, Rajesh Rai, Lakhan Singh and Bharat Singh have been asked to come on May 8.
The ED had conducted raids at 21 places in Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal on April 13 in this connection and arrested seven persons, including circle inspector Bhanu Pratap Prasad and land dealers.
