The fifty-run partnership is up between Pooran and Badoni and it has come in 44 balls. Much-needed for Lucknow as Badoni connects one over the mid-wicket fence and then finds a boundary. Lucknow nearing the 100-run mark.

Skipper Krunal Pandya departs for a golden duck as Theekshana picks his second wicket with Ajinkya Rahane taking a good low catch at first slip. Chennai will be very happy with its effort in the PowerPlay by picking three wickets with Lucknow struggling to score.

Top shot from Vohra as he skips down the track and gets his wrists into play to flick Chahar through the mid-wicket for a boundary. Karan Sharma is off the mark after the fall of Mayers and MS Dhoni comes up to the stumps to prevent the batsmen from dancing down the track.

Spin into the attack and Moeen Ali strikes early to remove Mayers and break the opening partnership. The batsman tried to hit Moeen out of the park but couldn’t get the distance as Gaikwad took a good catch running from long-off. Moeen gets Mayers for the second time in the tournament.

There isn’t much carry on this wicket and Mayers after mistiming one dispatched Chahar to the long-off region for a boundary. A swing and a miss as the ball beats the outside edge and narrowly misses the edge. Chennai looking for a breakthrough as Mayers aims to take on the opposition.

Tushar Deshpande into the attack and the medium pacer starts well giving absolutely no room to the batsman. Just a single and the Chennai opening bowlers have started well.

Deepak Chahar starts proceedings for Chennai and Mayers is up and running with a boundary off the last ball. Overcast conditions and the Chennai fast bowlers will look to gain some help from the surface that has patches of green cover.
