Kanpur:District Election Officer and district magistrate Vishak G Iyer inspected the training work being given to polling personnel with regard to upcoming Urbab Local Body elections, at Government Polytechnic, on Tuesday.
Around, 11,005 personnel are to be trained as Presiding Officers/Polling Officers for the smooth conduct of municipal elections in the district, out of which training is being given to 3,000 polling personnel of about 600 polling parties in three shifts on Tuesday.
The DM said that the Master Trainer should ensure that the demo and hands-on training of Ballot Unit (BU) and Control Unit (CU) is also conducted with all the Presiding Officers and Polling Officers. “Also after the training, all the members of the polling party were specially trained by the Master trainer regarding the proper use of different types of paper seals and address tags used in the EVM machine before the start of polling, so that no doubt arises during the election process,” said DM further. He also instructed the polling personnel to pay special attention to conduct timely mock-polls in the presence of agents of all the polling parties for the smooth commencement of polling.
