5-year-old girl 'raped', murdered and buried in Garhwa

GARHWA: A five-year-old girl child was "raped", brutally murdered and buried under sand in the Karimati forest of Garhwa district. The minor was missing from home since Monday morning. Police have detained a person for questioning in connection with the crime but refrained from releasing his identity, so far.
The parents of the girl searched for her throughout the day but could not trace her. Late in the evening, they found the body buried under sand with leaves over it.
According to police, the girl could have been raped as signs of injuries were found on many parts of her body.
On Tuesday, Rajballabh Kumar, a police officer, said, "The criminals killed her in a bid to hide the crime and dumped the body. We have sent the body for post-mortem."
Garhwa SP Anjani Kumar Jha said, "We are investigating if the child was raped before her murder. We have pressed a team of forensic experts to look into it."
