Heroin worth ₹2 crore seized
Jaipur/Jaisalmer: In a crackdown against smuggling of narcotics, Rajasthan police’s crime branch in a joint operation with Sriganganagar police on Tuesday seized 450 grams of heroin worth Rs 2 crore smuggled to India from Pakistan through a drone. Police arrested three smugglers including Buta Singh, who is wanted by various states.
ADG (crime) Dinesh MN said following the seizure of 35kg heroin on April 10, various teams of the crime branch were on high alert.
“We had some inputs on Buta Singh and a special team was sent to Bikaner, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh to look into the activities of smugglers,” Dinesh added.
The other arrested smugglers are Khet Singh and Sunil Kumar.
“Buta Singh had emerged as the main supplier of heroine. His arrest will help us dig deeper into the network of smugglers active in the border districts,” said Rahul Prakash, DIG, crime branch.
“Buta Singh is in touch with Pakistani smugglers and tells them where to send consignment of narcotics,” Prakash added.
