Active Covid cases in Gujarat below 1,000 after 41 days

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat recorded 96 new Covid cases on Tuesday. In all, 243 patients were discharged, bringing the active cases down to 946.
It is after 41 days that the number of active cases has gone below 1,000. Since the end of March, the state had been recording a steady rise in active cases - on April 2, it had reached 2,332. Out of the active cases, 340 were in Ahmedabad, 172 in Vadodara and 148 in Surat among others. Out of 33 districts, 31 had at least one active case as of Tuesday evening. The new Covid cases on Tuesday included 27 from Ahmedabad city, 10 from Vadodara city, and nine from Surat among others. tnn
