Police are searching for a suspected gunman after one person was killed and at least four others were injured in a shooting at a medical facility in Atlanta.
Authorities have named the suspected shooter as 24-year-old Deion Patterson, and say he is considered armed and dangerous.
A 39-year-old woman was killed, while four other women were wounded as the gunman fired shots in the building's waiting room.
The women of varying ages "are fighting for their lives at Grady Hospital," Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said.
Police said there had been no additional shots fired since the initial shooting.
Officers are actively searching for the suspect as well as any additional victims.
The shooting took place in a Northside Medical building on West Peachtree Street - a commercial area in the southeastern US state of Atlanta full of office blocks and apartments.
Police urged those in the area to "secure their building and shelter in place", and others were asked to stay away from the zone as an investigation is carried out.
Meanwhile, police have released a photo of Patterson, calling for anyone with information to report his location but not to approach him.
Those injured in the shooting were taken to hospital, while the fifth was pronounced dead at the scene.
A reward of up to $10,000 (£8,000) is being offered for information leading to the arrest and charge of the suspect.
