Bilkis Bano case: Centre, Gujarat agree to present in SC papers related to remission of convicts' session

The Central government as well as the state government have agreed to present in the Supreme Court papers related to remission of sentence of the accused. There was an outrage over the premature release of the convicts in the case. In earlier hearings, the Centre and Gujarat govt claimed privilege over the process of remission of sentence and had argued that they won't share documents to show how the decision was reached. However, in a change of stand, the governments have said they will present the documents in the Supreme Court.
