Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.88 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.66 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 0.15 per cent), Sanofi India(down 0.13 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.04 per cent at 12594.95 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 67.65 points at 18080.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 213.97 points at 61140.74.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Rail Vikas Nigam, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Shiv Aum Steels, Coastal Corp(PP), Gravita India, Centum Elec and Rail Vikas Nigam hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Party Cruisers Ltd., Parin Furniture, Cineline India and GSK Pharma hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
