Billy Hamilton played for the White Sox in 2021.

Former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Billy Hamilton had his contract selected from Triple-A Charlotte by the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, the team announced.

Hamilton and the White Sox are scheduled to face the Reds at Great American Ball Park this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In Chicago's 3-2 win Tuesday night against the Minnesota Twins, Hamilton ran for Andrew Vaughn in the bottom of the 9th and stole second base.

Hamilton was hitting .188 with three stolen bases in 59 plate appearances this season for Charlotte when he was promoted.

Hamilton, a 2009 second-round pick of the Reds, played for Cincinnati from 2013 to 2018, when the Reds granted him free agency. He has played in the big leagues for the Kansas City Royals, Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, Chicago Cubs, the White Sox, the Miami Marlins and the Twins since 2018.

Last July, Hamilton was with the Marlins when he faced the Reds briefly at GABP and made a rare appearance at second base.
